We started out as friends dishing up shakshuka and stuffed pitas at street food markets and pop-ups - via Kitchenette, an incubator for startup food businesses. Over two years, we many friends, mentors and supporters, and crowdfunded our way to opening our first all-day neighbourhood restaurant in Stoke Newington.

We serve simple dishes from our childhoods and travels – from Tel Aviv to Montreal  via London – done the best way we can imagine.

Sourcing.

We care about where our food comes from - we are passionate about the quality of our suppliers, and we’re always learning from them! So we work to source food from places that strive for great practice in ethics and sustainability - and local, seasonal where possible. You’ll be able to talk to any of our staff about where your food came from. Our suppliers include locals Hansen and Lydersen, Dusty Knuckle, Borough Wines and Minor Figures - alongside Natoora, the Good Earth Growers and the Cornwall Project.

Community.

Creating jobs for people who live close by is important to us. We’ll be working with Hackney Council’s Ways Into Work scheme, to offer jobs, apprenticeships and training to local residents and school leavers, as well as taking on young learners from the Hackney 100. We also care about being good neighbours, and developing a cafe our neighbours love. We will always have an open door, for your feedback, comments, ideas - even if you just want to pop by and say hello.
